Compass Box Great King Street Glasgow Blend

The Great King Street range by Compass Box are high-quality blended whiskies containing 55% - 65% malt whisky. Released in 2014, Glasgow Blend boasts a high (66%) single malt content, including peated whiskies. Aged in a combination of barrels: first-fill sherry, first-fill and refill ex-bourbon, and a small amount finished in new French oak barrels. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 43%. Although each batch varies, the typical vatting comprises: 34% grain (Cameronbridge) and 66% malt (35% Benrinnes, 17% Laphroaig, 8% Clynelish, 2% Miltonduff, 4% undisclosed Highland malt)

Nose: Baking spices and sherry wine notes with peat and light vanilla.

Palate: Full, rich and smoky with earthy notes, tobacco and a creamy body.

Finish: Peat grows more smokey along with notes of fruit and oak. Slightly drying.
