The Whisky Library began in 2020 as a labour of love created by whisky enthusiast Jacques Radyn. What started as a small dream in Durbanville grew into a beloved local bar known for its warmth, its community, and an extraordinary collection of over 1,200 whiskies from around the world. For years, our bar became a gathering place where people explored rare drams, learned together, and shared unforgettable moments.
Although we were forced to close our physical bar due to circumstances beyond our control, its legacy continues to inspire everything we do. The friendships formed, the passion for discovery, and the dedication to quality remain at the heart of The Whisky Library.
On 31 July 2024, we opened The Whisky Library Shop Online store, bringing our vision into a new era. Now in 2025, the shop proudly carries forward the spirit of our bar — offering a carefully curated range of fine and rare whiskies, from timeless classics to exclusive, hard-to-find releases — all selected with the same heart and expertise that defined our original space.
