Moving away from the distillery’s previous vintage-only approach, Balblair’s new range was released in 2019 and now proudly displays age-statements. The Balblair 12yo is matured in American oak ex-bourbon and "double-fired" (we believe this to mean heavily charred) American oak cask. Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 46%.
Nose: Elegant bright lemon peel layered with creamy vanilla and crisp green apples.
Palate: Ground spices and dried orange slices enveloped in intense set honey sweetness.
Finish: Creamy and leathery with notes of sweet vanilla.
