Batch 7 of Balvenie's Tun 1401 series. Named after David Stewart's favourite marrying vat, this was a vatting of nine American oak Bourbon casks and two European oak ex-sherry casks. This was a duty free only release which came to market in March 2013. Bottles at 49.2% ABV
Nose: Rich oak spices, vanilla, honey, dried fruits, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Palate: Full-bodied with creamy vanilla, toffee, dark chocolate, candied orange peel, dried fruits, nuttiness, and oak spices.
Finish: Long and warming, with oak, spices, caramelized nuts, and hints of citrus zest.
Tun 1401 Batch 7 is a luxurious whisky, balancing rich Bourbon cask sweetness with complex sherry cask influences, offering a harmonious blend of sweet, spicy, and fruity flavors.
