Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old – Pre-2010 Bottling – 750ml 43% ABV is an older presentation of the celebrated Islay single malt Scotch whisky from Bunnahabhain Distillery, situated on the northeastern coast of Islay, Scotland.

This earlier bottling represents a distinctive period in Bunnahabhain's history, before the distillery's significant range relaunch in 2010, when the core expressions moved to a higher bottling strength of 46.3% ABV and non-chill filtration.

Matured for a minimum of 18 years, Bunnahabhain 18 Year Old is renowned for its rich sherry-influenced character, combining dried fruits, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, honeyed malt and subtle coastal notes.

Unlike the heavily peated whiskies commonly associated with Islay, Bunnahabhain's traditional house style is predominantly unpeated, allowing its complex malt character and oak maturation to take centre stage.

Bottled at 43% ABV in the 750ml export format, this pre-2010 release offers an opportunity to explore an earlier interpretation of Bunnahabhain's mature Islay single malt.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich sherry sweetness, dried raisins and figs with toasted walnuts, caramel, orange peel and subtle sea salt.

Palate: Smooth and full-flavoured with dark chocolate, dried fruits, honey and roasted nuts, developing gentle oak spice, toffee and a delicate maritime character.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering sherry sweetness, toasted oak, dark chocolate and a subtle salty dryness.
