Caol Ila 2016 7 Year Old Cask #26580 – Adelphi is a young, powerful single-cask Islay single malt Scotch whisky, distilled at Caol Ila in 2016 and independently bottled by Adelphi after seven years of maturation.

Drawn from Cask #26580, this release showcases the classic Caol Ila combination of clean maritime peat, citrus and mineral character in a concentrated cask-strength style. Adelphi’s single-cask releases are bottled without chill filtration or added colouring, allowing the individual cask and distillery character to remain at the forefront.

Young Caol Ila can be particularly expressive at natural strength, combining coastal smoke, lemon and oily malt with pepper, ash and maritime salinity. Its limited single-cask nature also gives this bottling strong appeal for collectors of Adelphi and independently bottled Islay whisky. 58.5%ABV 700ml.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Coastal peat smoke, lemon zest and sea spray with ash, mineral notes and sweet malt.

Palate: Oily and powerful with citrus, smoked malt and cracked pepper, followed by brine, vanilla sweetness and earthy peat.

Finish: Long, smoky and maritime with lingering ash, lemon peel, sea salt and warming spice.
