Ardbeg Renaissance
Ardbeg Renaissance
This Ardbeg Renaissance 1998 bottling was the final release in a quartet of expressions bottled to celebrate the return of the Ardbeg distillery after it was reopened in 1997 following 6 silent years. It was the first 10 Year Old released since the reopening and brings an exquisite range of fruity, grassy and, of course, peated notes to the table. It’s a truly fantastic whisky that carries with it a little piece of Scotch whisky history. Today, this bottle is highly collectible and hard to find. ABV 55.9% ( Bottle size 700ml )
Nose: Intense peat smoke with hints of ripe oranges, apricots, seaweed, and sea salt.
Palate: Full-bodied with robust peat smoke, balanced by sweet vanilla, honey, and citrus zest.
Finish: Long and warming, with oak spice and a lingering smoky aftertaste.
Overall: A bold and complex whisky, showcasing Islay’s signature peat smoke and a delightful mix of fruity and coastal flavors.
