Balvenie Founders Reserve

The Balvenie Founder's Reserve 10 Year Old – Cognac-Style Bottle –  is a highly collectible older presentation of the discontinued Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland.

Named in honour of the distillery's founder, William Grant, this classic expression represents an earlier era of Balvenie's single malt whisky production, long before the distillery's modern core range became established.

Matured for a minimum of 10 years, Founder's Reserve was known for its approachable yet characterful Speyside style, combining honeyed malt sweetness, ripe orchard fruits, creamy vanilla and gentle oak spice.

This particular release is distinguished by its cognac-style bottle, an older presentation that sets it apart from the more familiar Balvenie bottle designs introduced in later years.

Bottled at 43% ABV in the 750ml format, this historical expression offers enthusiasts an opportunity to explore an earlier generation of The Balvenie's whisky-making heritage.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Heather honey, ripe pears and sweet malt with vanilla, soft floral notes, toasted oak and gentle spice.

Palate: Smooth and rounded with honeycomb, orchard fruits, creamy vanilla and caramel, developing notes of sweet barley, toasted nuts and warming cinnamon.

Finish: Medium-long and mellow with lingering honey, vanilla, gentle spice and soft oak.
