Benriach 15 PX Cask (No Tube)

BenRiach 15 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Sherry Wood Finish – 700ml 46% ABV is a discontinued Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from BenRiach’s celebrated Wood Finish series.

The whisky was initially matured in American ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry butts sourced from Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain. BenRiach confirms this maturation method in its official whisky archive. The whisky was bottled at 46% ABV, with natural cask-imparted colour and without chill filtration. 

Rich Pedro Ximénez influence adds layers of sultanas, honey, dark chocolate and dried fruit to BenRiach’s fruit-forward Speyside malt. Now discontinued, this older 15 Year Old is particularly appealing to collectors and drinkers looking for BenRiach releases from the distillery’s earlier independent era.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Honey and sultanas with dark chocolate and a pronounced wave of rich Pedro Ximénez sherry.

Palate: Creamy honey and ripe fruit with papaya and rosehip, developing dark chocolate, eucalyptus, rich PX sweetness and oak.

Finish: Long, rich and warming with dried fruit, dark chocolate, sweet sherry and lingering oak spice. These notes closely follow BenRiach’s archived profile for the expression.
