Bowmore Darkest (Old Bottling) is a highly sought-after discontinued Islay single malt Scotch whisky that became a favourite among enthusiasts for its rich Oloroso sherry influence and elegant peat smoke. Bottled at 43% ABV, this classic expression was matured in bourbon casks before being finished in Oloroso sherry casks, creating a beautifully balanced whisky with layers of dark fruit, chocolate, spice and Bowmore's signature maritime character. Replaced by the age-stated Bowmore 15 Year Old Darkest, the original old bottling is now a prized collector's item.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Oloroso sherry, gentle peat smoke, blackcurrants, dried fruits, toasted nuts and floral notes

Palate: Dark chocolate, toffee apples, hazelnuts, sweet malt, sherry richness and subtle maritime smoke

Finish: Long and warming with cinnamon, nutmeg, salted caramel, oak spice and lingering smoke
