Bowmore Enigma 12 Year Old "Black Label"

Bowmore 12 Year Old Enigma Black Label is a rare travel retail-exclusive Islay single malt Scotch whisky that became one of Bowmore's most beloved discontinued expressions. This 12-year-old release features a higher proportion of Oloroso sherry casks than the standard Bowmore 12, creating a richer, darker profile while retaining the distillery's signature maritime peat smoke. Produced until around 2014 (Newer bottling) before being replaced by Bowmore Black Rock, the Black Label Enigma has become a highly sought-after collectible among Bowmore enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Gentle peat smoke, honey, raisins, dark fruits, citrus zest and toasted oak

Palate: Heather honey, dried fruits, dark chocolate, sweet malt, subtle maritime smoke and warming spice

Finish: Long, mellow and balanced with lingering sherry sweetness, soft peat smoke and oak spice
