Bruichladdich 5 Year Old Octomore 5.1 Islay Whisky

Octomore 5.1 is the fifth edition of Bruichladdich’s super-heavily peated single malt series, released as a limited edition in 2012. Distilled from 100% Scottish barley and matured for 5 years in American oak casks, this expression pushes boundaries with an extreme peat level of 169ppm. Despite its intense smoke, the whisky still delivers the distillery's signature notes of citrus, light fruits, and creamy vanilla. A bold, powerful dram that is both peaty and surprisingly elegant. Only 18,000 bottles were produced. Bottled at 59.5% ABV.

Nose: Citrus, light fruits, grapes, and subtle smoke

Palate: Heavy peat smoke, heather, soft vanilla

Finish: Long and smoky, developing into smoked ham and spice
