Bruichladdich Octomore 10.3 Islay Barley Cask Strength
Octomore 10.3 Islay Barley is an ultra-peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled in 2013 using barley grown by farmer James Brown on the wild west coast of Islay. Harvested in 2012, this whisky explores both Islay terroir and bold smoke, matured entirely in ex-American oak casks for six years.
The nose opens with earthy, dry peat smoke and hints of lemon drops, thyme, and sea breeze. On the palate, it starts with sweet honey and citrus, then builds into intense peat and oak spice. Pear and gooseberry add juicy complexity beneath the bold smoke.
Bottled at cask strength with no chill-filtration, Octomore 10.3 is for those seeking extreme peat and flavour depth. A fierce yet refined dram from Islay’s iconic distillers.
Bottled at 61.3% ABV.
Nose: Earthy peat smoke, lemon drops, thyme, sea shell, vanilla
Palate: Salted honey, citrus, deep peat, oak heat, ripe pear, gooseberry
Finish: Long, smoky with sweet fruit and warm spice
