Royal Salute 21 Year Old Brown Flagon – 1980s Bottling is a vintage blended Scotch whisky produced by Chivas Brothers and presented in the distinctive brown ceramic flagon used for Royal Salute during this period. Royal Salute was created in 1953 to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, with its name referencing the ceremonial 21-gun salute.

Every Royal Salute expression carries a minimum age of 21 years, and surviving brown flagons are documented from the 1980s in both Wade and Spode ceramic decanters. The official Chivas Brothers archive confirms Wade flagon production during this era and records packaging changes throughout the 1980s.

The older Brown Flagon offers a rich, mature blended-Scotch profile built around dried fruits, toffee, orange peel, chocolate, nuts and polished oak, with warming spice and subtle sherry influence. Now a discontinued presentation, the brown ceramic flagon has become an attractive vintage Royal Salute release for collectors of older Chivas Brothers whisky.
