Diageo Clynelish 12 2022 Limited Release

The Clynelish in the 2022 Special Releases is double matured whisky. After the initial maturation, it switched to Pedro Ximénez / Oloroso seasoned casks for two years. I’m curious to find out whether this leaves enough room for the waxy notes.
Bottled at 58.5% ABV 

Nose: Rich and complex with notes of dried fruits, honey, vanilla, and a hint of waxiness, complemented by subtle sherry influences.

Palate: Smooth and well-rounded, featuring flavors of sweet raisins, dark chocolate, and toffee, with a distinctive waxy texture and hints of spice.

Finish: Long and satisfying with lingering notes of oak, sherry sweetness, and a gentle waxy finish.

A beautifully balanced whisky, showcasing the signature Clynelish waxiness while being enriched by the sherry cask maturation.
