Dewar's Special Reserve 12 Year

Dewar's 12 Year Old Special Reserve – 750ml 43% ABV is an older presentation of the celebrated premium blended Scotch whisky from John Dewar & Sons, renowned for its exceptional smoothness, honeyed richness and traditional Scottish blending heritage.

Crafted from carefully selected malt and grain Scotch whiskies, each matured for a minimum of 12 years, Dewar's Special Reserve showcases the elegant balance and refined character that have made the brand internationally recognised.

The blend is closely associated with Dewar's signature double-ageing process, in which selected mature whiskies are blended and given an additional marrying period to encourage greater harmony and smoothness.

The result is a beautifully rounded whisky offering layers of heather honey, creamy vanilla, ripe orchard fruits, soft caramel and gentle oak spice, complemented by delicate floral and toasted malt notes.

Bottled at 43% ABV in the 750ml format, this Special Reserve presentation represents an earlier generation of Dewar's premium age-stated range, predating the more recent Dewar's 12 Year Old packaging.

Its classic presentation, mature age statement and established blending heritage make it an appealing addition to collections of older blended Scotch whiskies.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Heather honey, vanilla and ripe apples with sweet malt, delicate floral notes, caramel and gentle oak.

Palate: Smooth and rounded with honeycomb, creamy toffee, orchard fruits and soft malt sweetness, developing hints of toasted nuts, cinnamon and subtle oak spice.

Finish: Medium-long and mellow with lingering honey, vanilla, gentle spice and a touch of dry oak.
