Elijah Craig Barrel Proof 12 Year Old First Release – Batch A313 is the historic inaugural release of Heaven Hill’s acclaimed Elijah Craig Barrel Proof series. Released in March 2013, this Kentucky straight bourbon was matured for 12 years and bottled uncut and non-chill filtered at 134.2 proof (67.1% ABV). Heaven Hill confirms A313 as the first official 2013 release, followed by B713 and C913 later that year.

Presented in the sought-after original “pirate bottle” style, the first release predates the later redesigned packaging and modern batch-label format. Its combination of a full 12-year age statement, exceptionally high barrel proof and significance as Release #1 makes A313 particularly desirable among collectors of early Elijah Craig and vintage American bourbon.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Deep oak, caramel and vanilla with cocoa, roasted coffee, leather and cinnamon spice.

Palate: Powerful and concentrated with hard caramel, dark oak, sweet apple, cocoa and warming spice. A little water reveals softer caramel, tobacco and additional spice.

Finish: Rich and warming with lingering caramel sweetness, seasoned oak, cinnamon, tobacco and spice.
