Glenfiddich IPA Experiment
Glenfiddich IPA Experiment
The first release of Glenfiddich's Experimental Series, is a whisky finished in Indian Pale Ale (IPA) beer casks. The IPA in question was created in collaboration with Speyside Craft Brewery to be zesty and hoppy so these notes could carry through to the whisky. Bottled at 43%. (Bottle size 750ml)
P.S.: Glenfiddich claim this is the first single malt to be finished in IPA casks, which is incorrect; the Japanese distillery Chichibu released a single cask finished in IPA in November 2015.
Nose: Elegant with fresh green apple, pear and spring blossom, followed by aromatic hops and fresh herbs.
Palate: Vibrant with a zesty citrus note along with creamy vanilla and a hint of fresh hops.
Finish: Sweet with more green hops.
