Glenmorangie Traditional 100 Proof is a discontinued, higher-strength Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Glenmorangie Distillery in Tain, Scotland.
Bottled at 57.2% ABV (100 British proof), this historical expression offers a more powerful interpretation of Glenmorangie's famously elegant, fruit-forward distillery character.
Produced before Glenmorangie's modern core range became established, Traditional 100 Proof was designed to showcase the distillery's spirit at a substantially higher strength than its familiar 10 Year Old expression. Released in the late 90's to mid 2000's.
The whisky is associated with traditional American oak maturation, bringing together Glenmorangie's characteristic citrus fruit, creamy vanilla and honeyed malt with greater intensity, richer oak influence and warming spice.
Unlike many modern cask-strength releases, Traditional 100 Proof was bottled at a specified traditional proof strength rather than necessarily at the natural strength of an individual cask.
Now discontinued, Glenmorangie Traditional 100 Proof is particularly appealing to collectors of older Highland single malts, historical distillery releases and higher-strength Scotch whiskies.
