Hazelburn CV
First distilled in 1997, Hazelburn is the triple distilled single malt produced at Springbank distillery, and is named after the distillery of the same name, mothballed in 1925. Although very popular, Hazelburn remains an elusive whisky. Like Longrow, their peated single malt, it makes up 10% of the annual production at Springbank each year, resulting in around 100 to 150 casks. The first bottlings of Hazelburn were released in 2005 and bottled at 46%ABV. (Bottle size 700ml)
Now discontinued, this was the former introductory malt in the Hazelburn range.
Nose: Light and fresh with aromas of green apples, pears, vanilla, and honey, accompanied by a touch of malt and subtle oak.
Palate: Smooth and well-balanced, featuring flavors of toffee, orchard fruits, malt, and a hint of spice. There are also notes of sweet cereal and a touch of citrus.
Finish: Medium length with lingering notes of fruit, vanilla, and gentle oak.
