Highland Park 1998 Travel Retail Exclusive

Highland Park 1998 Vintage – Global Travel Retail Exclusive – 1L 40% ABV is a discontinued Orkney single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2010 as part of Highland Park’s exclusive Vintage Collection.

Originally released for the international duty-free market, this expression was created with an emphasis on first-fill American oak sherry casks, producing a distinctive balance of honeyed sweetness, vanilla, gentle spice and aromatic peat smoke. The influence of Orkney's heather-rich peat from Hobbister Moor gives the whisky its characteristic soft, fragrant smokiness.

Bottled at 40% ABV in a generous 1-litre format, Highland Park 1998 was part of a travel retail vintage series that also included the 1994, 1990 and 1973 expressions.

Its combination of vintage-dated spirit, sherry oak maturation, discontinued presentation and travel retail heritage makes this an appealing release for collectors of older Highland Park single malts. 

Tasting Notes

Nose: Heather honey, dried grass and vanilla with warming ginger spice, dried apricot and subtle aromatic smoke.

Palate: Smooth and rounded with vanilla, honey and sweet malt, developing cinnamon, roasted cashew nuts, gentle oak and fragrant heather peat smoke.

Finish: Medium-long with lingering honey sweetness, warming spice, soft oak and delicate smoke.
