Highland Park 30 Year Old 2019 Special Release

Just over 30 years ago, Highland Park's master distiller decided to lay down the casks that would go on to become the heart of this incredible whisky and over these three decades, the results are simply staggering! Another complex beast with gentle smoke notes combining wonderfully with lighter sweeter flavours. This latest annual release is limited to just 2,667 individually numbered bottles. Bottled at 45.2%. Nose: Rich and complex with aromas of dried fruits (raisins, apricots), honey, and dark chocolate. Subtle hints of oak, tobacco, and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg) add depth.
Palate: Full-bodied and velvety smooth, offering flavors of sherry-soaked raisins, toffee, and orange peel. Delicate smokiness emerges alongside notes of vanilla, leather, and a touch of nuttiness.
Finish: Long and lingering, with a balanced interplay of sweetness and spice. Oak tannins and dark chocolate notes gradually fade into a warm, smoky finish.
