Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique Single Cask – Cask W170309004C – 56.3% ABV is a cask-strength Taiwanese single malt whisky from Kavalan’s acclaimed Solist range.

The Solist Vinho Barrique series is matured in wine barriques that are specially treated and re-toasted, creating the intensely fruity, dessert-like character for which this expression has become known. Each Solist bottling comes from an individual cask and is released at cask strength, meaning specifications and outturn vary from cask to cask. Comparable 56.3% Solist Vinho Barrique single-cask releases are documented as non-chill filtered and naturally coloured.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Ripe mango and melon with vanilla, caramelised sugar and dark chocolate, followed by rich wine-soaked fruit.

Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated with kiwi, citrus and tropical fruit, developing caramel, dark chocolate, vanilla and black pepper.

Finish: Long and warming with ripe fruit, chocolate, peppery spice and lingering wine-cask sweetness.
