Laphroaig 10 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 16 is a powerful limited-batch expression of Laphroaig’s legendary Islay single malt, bottled at its natural 58.5% ABV (117 proof). Matured for 10 years exclusively in charred ex-bourbon barrels, Batch 16 is bottled without dilution and without chill filtration, preserving the whisky’s full intensity and unmistakable maritime peat character.

The sixteenth release in the celebrated 10 Year Old Cask Strength series combines classic Laphroaig peat smoke and coastal salinity with sweet stewed apple, vanilla, black pepper and savoury smoke. Each Cask Strength batch is produced from a different selection of barrels, giving Batch 16 its own distinctive profile and strong appeal to collectors and enthusiasts of traditional Islay whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet stewed apples and caramelised pastry with cereal, vanilla and tanned leather beneath classic Laphroaig peat smoke.

Palate: Powerful and oily with vanilla, sea salt and sweet spice, followed by freshly ground black pepper and distinctive savoury notes.

Finish: Long and warming with gentle spice, charred oak, smoked fish, sea salt and lingering maritime peat smoke.
