Laphroaig 1815 Legacy Edition is a distinctive Islay single malt Scotch whisky created by former Distillery Manager John Campbell as a tribute to the generations of craftspeople behind Laphroaig since the distillery’s founding in 1815. This Global Travel Retail expression is bottled at 48% ABV and offers a richer, oak-driven interpretation of Laphroaig’s unmistakable peated house style.
The whisky is first matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before further maturation in new European oak hogsheads. This unusual combination brings caramelised dark fruit, raisins and substantial oak character to Laphroaig’s signature medicinal peat smoke.
With its travel-retail provenance and distinctive dual-oak maturation, the 1815 Legacy Edition is an interesting addition for collectors and Laphroaig enthusiasts seeking an expression outside the distillery’s standard core range.
