Produced as a single-barrel whiskey, each selected barrel has matured for at least ten years in fire-charred new American white oak. Michter’s notes that barrels selected for its 10 Year releases are frequently older than the stated age, with only barrels considered to have reached the required level of maturity chosen for bottling. The 2025 bottling is released at the traditional 92.8 proof / 46.4% ABV, allowing the mature rye character to remain rich and concentrated without moving into barrel-strength territory.
