The bourbon is first fully matured in new toasted and charred American oak barrels before being transferred into specially designed new toasted and charred French fine-grain oak barrels for additional maturation. These proprietary finishing barrels incorporate oak sourced from renowned French forests including Tronçais, Allier, Nevers and Vosges. Michter's Distillery

The French oak is naturally air-seasoned outdoors for at least 40 months near France’s Charente River, after which individual staves are selected for barrel construction. Michter’s precisely controls the secondary barrels’ toast and char to develop additional layers of fruit, confectionery sweetness, chocolate, spice and floral character. Michter's Distillery

Bottled at an unusual 100.2 proof / 50.1% ABV, the inaugural 2025 PFG is a particularly interesting release for collectors of Michter’s and the Bomberger’s Legacy Series.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Burnt sugar and warming spice with chocolate, gradually opening into elegant floral aromas.

Palate: Rich and complex with integrated fruit and spice, toasted sweetness and delicate floral and herbaceous notes.
