Cambus 1993 24 Year Old – North Star Spirits is a rare Lowland single grain Scotch whisky from the now-closed Cambus Distillery. Distilled in May 1993, the very year Cambus ceased production, it was matured for 24 years before being bottled by independent bottler North Star Spirits in September 2017 as part of Cask Series 003.

The whisky was drawn from a single refill Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry butt and bottled at 52.7% ABV, natural colour and without chill filtration. Only 210 bottles were produced, making this a particularly small-outturn release from a lost Scottish grain distillery.

The refill PX cask complements mature Cambus grain with sweet and spicy notes rather than overwhelming it with heavy sherry. Expect cinnamon and cloves alongside buttery toffee, shortbread and a rich rum-and-raisin finish. Its 1993 vintage—the distillery's final production year—24-year age statement and 210-bottle outturn give it strong appeal for collectors of closed-distillery Scotch.

    Tasting Notes

Nose: Cinnamon and warming cloves with vanilla, subtle sherry sweetness and mature grain character.

Palate: Buttery toffee and shortbread with caramel, gentle baking spice and soft fruit.

Finish: Sweet and lingering with rum and raisin, warming spice and subtle PX sherry richness. These core notes closely follow North Star Spirits' original tasting profile.
