Port Charlotte PC9 “An Ataireachd Ard”
Port Charlotte PC9 “An Ataireachd Ard” is a limited-edition Islay single malt, distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2010. This 9-year-old whisky is part of Bruichladdich’s tribute to the long-lost Port Charlotte distillery, which closed in 1929. Its name means "The Surge of the Sea" in Gaelic—a nod to its deep connection with Islay’s coastal power and heritage.
Heavily peated and crafted with passion, only 6,000 bottles were produced. A bold and emotional dram for collectors and lovers of Islay whisky.
Bottled at cask strength 59.2%
Nose: Briny sea air, bonfire smoke, charred oak, and coastal herbs
Palate: Intense peat smoke, burnt toffee, sea salt, and roasted nuts
Finish: Long, smoky, and maritime with a touch of cracked pepper and ash
