Shetland Reel Batch 1

Shetland Reel Batch 1 Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited edition blended malt created by The Shetland Distillery Company and bottled on the remote island of Unst in the Shetland Islands of Scotland. Released in November 2015 in a run of just 1,800 bottles, this expression combines four Speyside single malts and one Islay malt, then is diluted with pure Unst water to 47% ABV before hand bottling. Evocative of its wild island origin, the whisky delivers a balance of sweet dried fruit, spice, wood and windswept peat character. In 2016, Batch 1 earned a Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Nose: Sweet dried fruit with gentle spice and wood.

Palate: Balanced malt sweetness with hints of peat and spice.

Finish: Warm with lingering sweet fruit and light peat smoke.
