The Macallan Amber – 1824 Series

The Macallan Amber from the 1824 Series certainly has a distinct profile that plays on the concept of color to reflect the maturation process. As it's part of a no age statement (NAS) range, the emphasis on 100% sherry casks and natural color suggests Macallan is shifting away from the traditional age markers, trusting that richer hues indicate longer maturation and deeper complexity.  Bottled at 43% ABV

Nose: Soft and inviting, with vanilla, barley, lemon, ginger, milk chocolate, and raisins creating a warm, delicate aroma.

Palate: Richer than expected, with sultanas, dates, apple peel, and cinnamon. Cereal and pastry notes emerge, hinting at mince pies and shortbread.

Finish: Lingering oak with spiced mince pies, leaving a dry and satisfying finish.
